ChinaHappens

Summary

ChinaHappens has no accounts and no logins. We don't ask for your name or email to use the app, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we don't use third-party advertising. The limited data we do handle exists only to make no-login purchases work and to run and keep AI features safe.

What we collect

What we don't collect

We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, contacts, or photos. ChinaHappens does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and contains no third-party advertising SDKs.

How we use data

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Storage & retention

Your itineraries, saved places, and notes are stored locally on your device and are not synced to our servers. Deleting the app removes this local data from the device.

On our servers we retain the anonymous device identifier and purchase records for as long as needed to honor purchases and meet legal and accounting obligations. AI question text retained for content-safety review is kept only as long as necessary for that purpose and is then deleted. Server data is stored with reputable cloud infrastructure providers.

Your rights

Because there is no account, most of your content is under your direct control on the device. To request deletion of anonymous server-side data associated with your device — including retained AI question text — email support@chinahappens.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data under local law.

Children's privacy

ChinaHappens is a general travel app intended for adults planning trips. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note the change in the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
